For most of my life alot of things seemed to go pretty smoothly. Going through university passing all my exams, playing football at a reasonable standard and getting paid for it, being brought up within a solid christian home..... I am soo blessed...
But recently i have stepped completely out of that comfort zone as i persue what i believe is Gods will for my life. Over the past few weeks and months in what i believe to be GODS WILL i ask myself how come everything hasnt went all smoothly like it should?! or should it?! The car i bought since being over here has give me problem apon problem...the course im doing is soooo intense.... my money has run dry(no time to work and cant find a job).....things were getting on top of me with all these things combined together........ But i did pray for "God to break me and mold me" So that i may be equipped for his work. so..... i truthLy believe that is what he is doing...
Sometimes in life we tend to make up our own perceptions of how God should operate within our lives. Pain and sufferings is always going to arrive at some stage or other. But when it arrives at our door step we focus on rebuking it in Jesus` name or we think God is being unjust. Although a lot of the time when we review the situation afterwards in the BIGGER PICTURE we see how beneficial it was and that we learnt and progressed in many ways through it.
I have learnt that instead of coming with an attitude of dismissal towards problems when they arrive, should we not have an attitude of endurance and believing that God won’t let us go through anything we can’t cope with. Would God not want our attitudes to be ones of faith and hope. That we don’t necessarily find happiness through the problems but we find joy and hope knowing that God will deliver us in His Due time (1 Samuel 1v20). Just like a father who lets his child go in the swimming pool, God lets us go sometimes (as i feel he did with me). When we are left in the deep end to fend for ourselves, we end up learning a lot quicker than having armbands on forever(immature believers). It is Gods plan that we progress and learn to know that even when we are going through troubles, even though we sometimes can`t see God in the midst; he is there watching your every step.
In this life we don’t have to decide for hard times to come our way as it they will, but we can decide our attitudes towards them. Intially i started focusing on the problem and how i was so "unlucky" "unfortunate" felt sorry for myself etc... I basically forgot about God, i didnt give God an opportunately to reveal himself and teach me. Eventually i realised i can live alongside these problems, but it all comes down to the root which was my attitude. The scriptures tell us the yoke is easy and the burden is light (Matthew 11:30). This doesnt mean the problems go away... it means a shift of attitude. Transferring the baggage from you to God. Gods mission for us is that we go into the world and make disciples - "How can you deliver the goods if your heart is heavier than the load?"
Do not focus on the Problem (devils a deciever), as when you focus on something you think about it in more depth.... the more indepth you think about something the more ingrained it becomes within your mind. Be concerned and play your part BUT after this hand it over to the God who will deliver you in his DUE time!!! I promise you.... he will come through..... REMEMEBER!!.... "IN HIS TIME, NOT YOUR TIME, BUT IN GODS TIME WHICH IS DUE TIME".

What a little legend you are! Amen to that, Erin x x x
If God brings us to it, He'll bring us through it! - Cheese on toast but true.
Your words are very powerful and insightful, Ireland. I truly believe that we all KNOW this, but it is easily forgotten and almost never practiced. How simple a task for the enemy to focus on the things he know will throw us off our path and make us weak! That is why it is so important to keep reading His word, speak to Him daily, and find joy in the midst of our hardship. It is through complete surrender that we will find the daily strength and wisdom to keep going each day... and GROW into the person He desires us to be. So many people stop pursuing their relationship with Him or put limits on the time they spend with Him thinking there are so many things "they" have to handle and do... little do they know that it just takes the faith of a mustard seed to "figure out" the purpose and way of true life... that nothing else matters because if you just listen to Him, HE will guide your steps. NOTHING will truly go wrong when you live for Him. And the times we struggle... those are the mountains we have to learn to climb in order to get to the top.. to arrive at our true destination. Those struggles are full of moments of revelation and truth....they necessary to remind us that we need to lean on Him, not the world...and in the process, they open our hearts to the power of His love and mercy.. so that we can truly know what it is to be weak in the presence of love.. to sacrifice and serve... to love others they way He created us to love.
Thanks for your thoughts and your amazing example as a passionate and devoted man of God!
Your new Celebration friend,
-Mary P.
